Anthony Foye vs. Lennox (aka Pedro Gunn, aka King Pedro) Holligan - The Honorable Cristina Perez presided (notice the halo over her head in the picture).Anthony Foye sued Lennox Holligan for $580.00 of unpaid wages. Holligan claimed that he had never seen Foye in his life, therefore no money was owed.
Judge Cristina began the case by asking Holligan how she should address him. He replied, "King Pedro". She said, "this is exciting. I've never had royalty in my court". Holligan smiled and laughed. The sarcasm had missed him by a mile. Holligan was asked to explain his side of the story. He said that he had hired a photographer to take pictures at the Philly Caribbean Carnival Festival, but never received any photos from the photographer. Foye piped in and said, "you got every picture I took". Holligan replied, "man, I don't even know who you are. I've never seen you in my life". This stumped the court. Cristina and Bailiff Renard looked at each other in bewilderment and Cristina asked if a mistake had been made on pairing up the plaintiff and defendant for that particular case. No mistake had been made, however, Holligan still claimed that he had never seen Foye in his life. Maybe his face was different or he had gotten fat. Foye said that nothing had changed. Point Foye (from the start this is looking bad for the pathological liar, aka King Pedro).
Foye claimed that he had met face to face with Holligan and signed a contract stating terms of employment. Judge Cristina held up a copy of the contract and asked if Holligan had ever seen it before. He said yes and he signed it, but he still didn't know who Foye was. Point Foye. Seriously, King Pedro.
Judge Cristina explained to Foye that the reason that Holligan probably didn't recognize Foye was because "King Pedro is royalty. He meets a lot of people and can't possibly remember everyone he meets". Point Judge Cristina. Holligan again missed the sarcasm and agreed with Judge Cristina.
Holligan went on to explain that the reason that Foye didn't get paid was because he was 2 hours late for the shoot. Judge Cristina said, "so you do know Foye?". Holligan replied, "yeah, now his face is coming back to me". Foye also presented a CD of the photo shoot, which Foye shot, that contained pictures of Holligan posing with the models from the Festival. 5 Points Foye, just because I hate liars.
Holligan stated that Foye's pictures were terrible and ended up not using the photos for promotional purposes. Holligan found some other publications on the web and used their photos instead. Therefore, Foye shouldn't have to be paid, because he got what he wanted for free. Judge Cristina asked him to repeat himself again for the court. He did and she explained that he just admitted to breach of contract. 5 Points Foye, again because I hate liars.
Judge Cristina ruled in favor of Foye for $250.00 (not the original amount of $580.00 because interest was not mentioned the contract).
My scoreboard
Foye - 12 points
Judge Cristina - 1 point
King Pedro - 0 points
Judgment
I agreed with Judge Cristina. Foye didn't have to open his mouth to win this case. I will say this, if Judge Judy would have presided, she would have dismissed the case on name alone. King Pedro? Really? Judge Judy don't have time for no foolishness.
